We are looking for a part time Child Development Resource Specialist at our San Bernardino Preschool. |
| Duties: | 1. Monitors the development and implementation of center-based and home care activities and curriculum for children and parents.
2. Conducts ongoing monitoring, program self-assessment and evaluation efforts.
3. Puts into practice theories and sound principles of child and adult education.
4. Supervises activities and services in home and center base options
5. Coordinates program record keeping and monitoring efforts with the support and assistance of other members of Management Team.
6. Ensures appropriate staff child ratios at center base
7. Ensures classrooms are developmentally appropriate and are in compliance with Title 22 and Title 5.
8. Conducts and documents monthly observations of individual parent-child interaction occurring in various program service options.
9. Administers quarterly monitoring instruments (ITERS; EKERS; Home Visitor Checklist)
10. Maintains a well organized and clean work environment for self and direct reports
11. Assists with planning program events and activities that inform parents, Volunteers of America staff and board, and community groups about services.
12. Communicates effectively with others, including giving and receiving feedback on the quality of services.
13. Provides direct supervision and performance reviews for direct reports.
14. Conducts staff training and development, including on-site consultation, coaching and mentoring staff Maintains documentation of all training hours.
15. Fosters professionalism and promotes a professional program image within the program and the community.
16. Supports philosophies, polices and goals and has a measurable impact on improving program quality and outcomes.
17. Demonstrates the willingness and the ability to be a leader while sharing and delegating responsibilities with other employees.
18. Maintains strict confidentiality at all times in communications.
19. Maintains a professional development plan that will strengthen the knowledge and skills required for the position.
20. Supervises Disability Specialist.
21. Ensures compliance with all legal mandates for special education.
22. Develops and coordinates curriculum for atypically developing children.
23. Conducts periodic audits to ensure compliance with special education.
24. Serves as the liaison for the LEA and is responsible for the development and implementation of services fro children with disabilities.
25. All other duties as assigned.

| Qualifications: | Credential in special education. Master's degree in teaching, early childhood development or related field. At least 12 units of ECE units. Minimum of 3-5 years related experience. Ability to successfully pass fingerprint and criminal investigation screening. Must have valid driver's license, meet insurance guidelines established by the Corporation and how own transportation between Rialto and San Bernardino facilities. CPR/First Aide Certified. Ability to have a TB test and health screening. Ability to meet all pre-hiring requirements as defined by Title 22, Title 5 and contract. Knowledge of programs criteria and applicable regulations essential to the health and welfare of children. Demonstrated ability to apply independent judgment in critical situations involving children and their parents.
1. Must have ability to read, write and speak in English. Bilingual in Spanish helpful.
2. Must have the ability to read, comprehend, give and follow instructions.
3. Must have knowledge of Title 22 Licensing regulations, Title 5,, Head Start Performance Standards, and the Head Start Act.
4. Must be computer literate and be proficient in use of Microsoft Office 2000.
